Body and Brain Overhaul - Episode 1 Overview

Tonight is the inaugural episode of Body and Brain Overhaul, and the idea is to see how an integrated brain-body approach to personal peak performance works on 4 individuals from different walks of life. We will look at how non-athletes can benefit from taking a leaf out of athletes books - specifically, I am talking about an integrated approach that trains both the body and the mind and incorporates recovery strategies as well.

The Body and Brain Presenters and ParticipantsFar too often, we look at our health and personal performance (be it work or any sort of goal achievement) with a 'silo approach' - by that I mean that we often focus on food in isolation; or exercise, psychotherapy or goal-setting in isolation. 

What we hope to show over 8 weeks is that if we replace this 'silo' approach with a more 'integrated brain-body' approach, the results are much more powerful and occur across the board. To do this, we have deliberately chosen 4 individuals with very different needs and goals to see if the results will occur across the board - rather than taking the easy way out by selecting 4 similar individuals that would be easy to get results with if we had them 24/7. We have also assessed both their Biological Age and their Brain Function, and we hope to show that what benefits the body, benefits the brain and vice versa.
